"Do you think the Speed of Business got faster in the last 10 years...Yes? What might happen in the next decade....continue to get faster...Yes...How Fast can you get Fast?
In addition to being a television broadcaster for Motorsports (10 years with ESPN and 10 years with FOX Sports/Speed Channel), he has also been a professional speaker for the past twenty years.
Background: Derek's background is all Motorsports, television and business. He was a professional Formula One and Indy Car driver before moving to a career in television broadcasting. His keynote topics are peppered with colorful real life Motorsports analogies that relate in a powerful way to business. He has personal friendships and works with people such as Mario Andretti, Roger Penske, David Letterman, Paul Newman and Sylvester Stallone. Clients that he has spoken for include, Benetton, Rolex, BMW, Honda, Bentley Motor Cars, Gallo Wines, Sony, First Energy, Prudential, Deloitte, Abbott Laboratories, etc.
Because his presentations are so strong in the motivational field but his background is television and that of a professional athlete, he falls into several categories, motivation and celebrity/athlete. He's from Dublin, Ireland and is definitely NOT like all the others.

Gallup Pole
If a recent Gallup pole shows that 59% of Americas workforce are not engaged in their job, there is no better platform than Motorsports analogies to actively engage them. Derek's analogies during his keynote speeches gives people the vital "ah ha" moments. The motorsports model is all about speed and flawless execution....and the successful corporations of the future, who value speed as a core competancy, might use a similar model. Motor sports in America is the largest spectator sport in the country. The Indy 500 is the largest single day attended sporting event in the world and Formula One is the largest watched sport in the world. The analogies are colorful, powerful and all real.
Question:1- When choosing a speaker, do you want more glitter and/or a marquee name. What about real life truths and experiences that can positively effect your organisation. What about getting both?
2- If we are in a race against the competition everyday....what "vehicle" would you like to be driving? What type of High Performance Team would you like supporting you? What gear would you like to be in? What model would you use to get it?
3- Do you agree that the Speed of doing business has increased in the last 10 years? Will it get even faster in the next 10? If you value Speed as a core competancy in the next decade, what model might you use to build your High Performance Team for the next decade?
Action Item: If there is even a hint on interest, Derek would welcome a personal phone call at your convenience.
